In 2006 a group of harvard students created facebook . It was the first completely user friendly social networking site . So it becomes popular swiftly and now it have over 500 millions member . But are we safe on facebook ? People like to share everything on facebook . Thus we have made facebook a store house of our feelings and opinions . But does facebook make any misuse of this ? Are they cheating with us ? Here are few ways how facebook can cheat us :

Many companies always want to know peoples opinions and interests to make plans for their business . As we share all our feelings and opinions on our facebook profiles , those companies may want to buy these profiles . Thus facebook may sell our information and destroy our privacy .

When you upload a photo on facebook , you give them permission to keep your photo on facebook server forever . That means you can't delete your photo completely . By clicking delete you just make it invisible . But it remains on facebook server forever . Anytime they could publish it . So if you upload any creative work , you will lose you copyright . So be careful about uploading photos on facebook .

However these are just rumors . There is no good evidence that facebook is doing such evil . But still we are not safe on facebook . There are some other peoples who are always busy to do harm to us . Here i have described some important things you should be careful while using facebook to connect with friends :

Don't trust every messages on facebook!!

Why?? What does this title means?? Before answering this , i want to share you a story...
One day i got a message on facebook from one of my friends . There he wrote :


"hello buddy my mobile balance is finished . i'm alone in the home . i can't go out to recharge money . plz transfer some money from your account . i will give you money 2morrow at school!! Oh sorry i forgot to tell you that i've changed my mobile number. my new mobile number is XXXXXXXXX"


as he was one of my best friends , i immediately transfer some balance to his mobile account . Next day at school , when i was talking with that friend by the by i asked him for money . Hearing this he became so suprised . I then told him about that message . But he told me that he did not even logged into facebook previous day . Then he went to facebook from his mobile and tried to log into his account but he failed . I then realized that actually his account had been hacked and that message was sent by this hacker .
I think you already have got the point . Yes friends .. what i wanna say is that don't trust every messages on facebook even if it is sent from one of your close friends . Most importantly if the message contains any money request or proposal . So whats the solution ? Its easy.. Just confirm the message by calling or emailing your friend . Or you may ask him any question which is only known to your friend:)

Be Careful About Joining Facebook Groups & Before You "Like" Or Even Reporting A Fan Page

Yes, this is actually very serious! You should be very careful about what groups you join on Facebook! This may sound being very "hyper sensitive" about your FB profile but there have been many cases in which people have been fired from their jobs just because they had joined "objectionable" groups on Facebook. There are reports of Australian visa being refused to a Pakistani student just because he had created a fan page named "Al-Qaeda" (fan page was later removed). That student must have though that he lived in a "free world" where he could just say "anything about anything" but he forgot that the freedom of expression is still not fully free.
I am sure that you must know someone whose Facebook account was deleted by Facebook team just because he/she had been posting excessive material against a particular religion. You should avoid posting "offensive" or "sensitive" material. I know many cases in which people got their Facebook accounts deleted by the Facebook just because they had reported many anti-Islamic fan pages. If you have any report to make against any fan page, report it once or twice (max) and add a description as to why are you reporting against fan page. DO NOT keep on reporting against one single page as this could get your account blocked or deleted

Be Careful About Sharing Your Information On Facebook

Okay, we understand that you need to be on the Facebook to stay connected with your peers, friends and family. And yes, we know that deleting your Facebook account in order to safeguard your web profile is not a good solution. So the best known solution of staying connected through Facebook and not having your information leaked to unwanted people is to have your Facebook privacy settings in placed. You think this is a lame solution? We agree. This is not so cool sci-fi way of solving the privacy issue but unfortunately there is no alternative! If you want to keep your FB profile up then you got to resort to Facebook's private setting! Facebook offers your highly customizable privacy setting which can be separately applied to many components.

Remember: You must not allow the "strangers" to view your private photos, your phone numbers, your address etc. And DO NOT share your login and password with anybody!

Lunar eclipse December 2011

Saturday evening when the last total lunar eclipse of the year - and the only one till April 2014 - takes place. The rare event, during which the moon will turn copper-red as the Earth's shadow falls on it, has had astronomy enthusiasts excited particularly because the eclipse takes place soon after sunset.

This is the second total eclipse of the moon this year. The first, which took place on June 15, was the longest and darkest eclipse of the century lasting one hour 40 minutes. By comparison, the total phase of Saturday's event would last 51 minutes. However, its importance lies in the fact that there will be no total eclipse for the next two-and-ahalf years.

A total lunar eclipse occurs only during a full moon, when the Earth's satellite slips into our planet's shadow. It does not turn totally dark thanks to indirect sunlight which gives it a dramatic reddish hue.

The legend of Rahu and Ketu: According to Hindu mythology as given in Shanda Purana, long ago the Devatas (Gods) and Rakshas (Demons) churned the ocean to get the Amrit, the divine nectar which makes one immortal. Finally Dhanvantri came out with a pot of Amrit and there was a mad rush for it and the Devas and the Rakshas started quarrelling. Hence, Lord Vishnu took the form of Mohini (a charming lady) and charmed them into sitting in two separate rows to distribute the Amrit. She started with the Devatas. Towards the end of the line as the Amrit was almost over, a Rakshasa called Rahu guessed what was happening and sat at the end of the devatas line. Mohini poured the last of the Amrit in Rahus hands and he drank it. Sun and Moon, who were sitting next to Rahu informed Mohini that he is a rakshasa. Lord Vishnu cut off Rahu’s head with the Sudarshan Chakra and neck was separated from his body. However as he has already consumed Amrit he did not die and hence the bodiless head lives as Rahu and the headless torso lives as Ketu. The Rakshas protested and another quarrel started. Finally a compromise was agreed and Rahu and Ketu were given the status of planets and as the Sun and the Moon reported Rahu, on full moon and new moon days Rahu and Ketu were allowed to torment the Sun and Moon to have their revenge. This causes the eclipses during which time Sun and Moon lose their rays and become powerless.

U.S. judge rejects Apple bid to halt Galaxy sales

(Reuters) - Apple failed to convince a U.S. judge to block Samsung Electronics <005930.KS> from selling Galaxy smartphones and tablets in the U.S. market, depriving the iPhone and iPad maker of crucial leverage in a global patent battle between the two companies. In a ruling released late on Friday, U.S. District Judge Lucy Koh in San Jose, California denied Apple's request for a preliminary injunction against Samsung.

The two companies are engaged in a bruising legal battle that includes more than 20 cases in 10 countries as the they jostle for the top spot in the smartphone and tablet markets. Earlier on Friday, an Australian court extended a halt on sales of Samsung's latest Galaxy tablet in the country by at least a week, as Apple appeals a ruling that had ended the ban.

Apple sued Samsung in the United States in April, saying the South Korean company's Galaxy line of mobile phones and tablets "slavishly" copies the iPhone and iPad. But on Friday Koh rejected Apple's bid to ban sales of three smartphone models, as well as the Samsung Tab 10.1. "It is not clear that an injunction on Samsung's accused devices would prevent Apple from being irreparably harmed," Koh wrote.

Apple spokeswoman Kristin Huguet on Friday referred to previous Apple statements about the case, saying that Samsung's "blatant copying is wrong." Samsung spokesman Jason Kim said Samsung welcomed Koh's opinion. "This ruling confirms our long-held view that Apple's arguments lack merit," Kim said in an email. Apple could still prevail in the overall lawsuit. But it's inability to win a quick halt to Galaxy sales in the United States comes as the stakes skyrocket in one of the fastest growing consumer electronics markets.

Global tablet sales are expected to explode to more than 50 million in 2011. Apple, which has sold more than 30 million iPads so far, is expected to continue to dominate the market in the near term.

Apple's new CEO Tim Cook is under pressure to show he can fill the large shoes of his predecessor, late Silicon Valley titan Steve Jobs. But in his first quarterly result unveiled as permanent CEO, Apple stunned Wall Street, missing expectations for the first time in years. Analysts said customers held off buying iPhones in the September quarter, waiting for the October launch of the latest iPhone 4S. But tablets proved a bright spot. The company moved 11.12 million units during the quarter despite attempts by various manufacturers, including Samsung, to capture a slice of the tablet market.

Now Amazon.com has also entered the fray with its Kindle Fire tablet, but Samsung's Galaxy line-up is widely deemed the closest rival in terms of capability and design to the iPad. Acknowledging the competition, Cook said it was "reasonable to say" none of Apple's rivals have gained any traction, and he expected the tablet market to be bigger than personal computer in the long term. In her ruling, Koh wrote that for some of the smartphones, "Apple has established a likelihood of success on the merits at trial." Koh added that Apple would likely prove Samsung infringed one of its tablet patents. However, Apple had not shown that it was likely to overcome Samsung's challenges to the patent's validity, Koh wrote. Apple must demonstrate both infringement and validity to succeed in its lawsuit. The case in U.S. District Court, Northern District of California is Apple Inc v. Samsung Electronics Co Ltd et al, 11-1846.
